The Blackpool squad could be boosted by the return of Kevin Stewart for Tuesday night’s game at Sunderland, Neil Critchley has confirmed.
The midfielder has resumed full training again with the Seasiders, having been out of action with an ankle injury since mid-March.
“He trained last week and he’s had no ill effects from the training he’s done. If he trains again today, then hopefully we can include him in the squad tomorrow,” Critchley said.
Slightly ahead of schedule in being back to fitness, his recovery is no surprise given the way he performed as a mid-season signing after a period without a club.
“That’s all you need to know about him as a person and as a professional. He’s been pushing himself to get back as quickly as possible. He’s desperate to be involved.
“He loves to play, wants to play and looks after himself unbelievably well. He is the consummate professional, and I wouldn’t have any hesitation in putting him into a game and starting him in a game like this.”
