Neil Critchley believes squad management, preparation and recovery is the key to success over the upcoming busy period.
The Seasiders face eight matches in the month of February, starting with this evening’s visit of Northampton Town, and the Blackpool Head Coach knows that his squad will be tested over the coming weeks.
“I believe in the second half of the season that preparation and recovery will be a big factor for us,” he said.
“We’re always analyzing the squad as a whole and as individuals, and how we look after the players when the games are coming so thick and fast over the coming weeks will be really important. We’ll be focusing really hard on these areas, and that’s where you can gain possible advantages.
“It is a busy period, but any footballer will tell you they enjoy playing matches, so we’ll embrace what’s coming up and look to get on a good run again.”
With Northampton Town heading to Bloomfield Road on Tuesday evening, Critchley is expecting a tough test against the Cobblers.
“Keith Curle has done a really good job since he’s gone into the Club,” he said.
“They gained promotion last season via the play-offs, and have come into League One with new personnel and a new style. You know what they’re going to bring and they make it difficult for you.
“We’re at home though, and it’s up to us to impose our game on them as we look to gain another three point to our tally.”
