Doncaster Rovers visit Bloomfield Road on Tuesday evening, as the Seasiders look to make it three straight league wins.
Neil Critchley’s side come into Tuesday’s game on the back of two consecutive 1-0 victories over both Rochdale and Portsmouth, with the side keeping four clean sheets in their last five matches.
The Seasiders seem to have hit their groove in recent weeks, sitting top of the form table heading into the match, with 13 points collected from a possible 18. The side sit in 13th position in the table, seven points off of the play-offs with 20 matches still to play.
Doncaster, meanwhile, come into Tuesday’s match in fourth position – nine points clear of Blackpool and seven off the top of the table. Surprisingly, given their impressive league position, the side have failed to win any of their last four league matches, though did pick up a late point thanks to a 90th minute equaliser against Hull City in a 3-3 draw on Saturday.
The Seasiders are still without long-term absentees Keshi Anderson, Marvin Ekpiteta and Dan Gretarsson. CJ Hamilton is continuing his recovery, and returned to full training earlier this week.
Last Time We Met:
Blackpool will be looking to make amends from the reverse fixture, having suffered a 3-2 defeat at the Keepmoat Stadium back in November.
The Seasiders were 2-0 up at half-time in the match, but succumbed to a second-half fightback, and returned to Bloomfield Road with nothing to show for their efforts.
The Key Player: Fejiri Okenabirhie
24-year-old Fejiri Okenabirhie is Doncaster’s top scorer so far this season, having found the back of the net 11 times.
The striker joined the Club on a two-and-a-half-year deal in January 2020 for an undisclosed fee from Shrewsbury Town.
“Doncaster have a good resilience and character within their dressing room and a belief in how they play. Darren Moore is a terrific manager with great experience, and I’m sure it will be terrific game of football.”
