Critchley: Magic Of The FA Cup Is Alive In Blackpool

8 January 2021

Neil Critchley is looking forward to seeing how his side fair against Premier League opposition, as the Seasiders welcome West Brom to Bloomfield Road this weekend.

Sam Allardyce’s side visit Bloomfield Road for an Emirates FA Cup third round tie to be broadcast live on BT Sport Extra 3, and Critchley feels his side has done well to warrant their place in the third round.

“We’re excited for the tie and the magic of the FA Cup is alive in Blackpool,” the Head Coach said.

“We know it will be a tough game playing against a Premier League team, but we’ve done well so far to get to this stage of the competition and we want to give a good account of ourselves on Saturday.

"It's tough to know what side we will face in terms of their personnel, as Sam Allardyce has already confirmed he intends to make several changes. All we can do is focus on what we do well, prepare as best as we can, and be ready for what’s to come.”

Ahead of the match, Neil Critchey has confirmed both CJ Hamilton and Luke Garbutt are ruled out of the match with injury.

“Both CJ and Luke will be out for the game. Luke picked up a slight abductor issue right at the end of the Bristol Rovers match last week, but it shouldn’t be a big problem.

“We’re looking forward to the match this weekend and hope we can put in a strong performance against West Brom.”
