Critchley: An Outstanding Effort

23 March 2021

Neil Critchley was thrilled to see his side pick up another three points in the 3-1 win over Peterborough United to see the side break into the play-off places.

Jerry Yates grabbed a brace before Luke Garbutt smashed home a third goal to ease past Peterborough and make it ten games unbeaten in the league.

“It was a fantastic performance and a deserved three points,” Critchley said.

“The physical effort of the players was outstanding and tactically we were brilliant. I’ve got nothing but praise for the character within the squad. We’re missing a number of players at the moment, and for us to play against a side as good as Peterborough and play how we played is so pleasing.

“We were very good in the first half. Jerry scored a great goal to put us in front straight away. Their goal on half-time was a real sickener, as I don’t think we deserved to concede a goal.

“That didn’t effect us though. We came out for the second half and were on the front foot from the off and eventually saw the game out relatively comfortably. I couldn’t be happier.”
