Neil Critchley praised his side’s patience in seeing out the victory in the 1-0 win over MK Dons.
The Seasiders secured their third straight away league win on Tuesday, with Jerry Yates’s 14th goal of the season the difference, to secure another three points on the road.
“The players showed great effort in the game and deserved the victory,” Critchley said.
“The togetherness, work ethic and spirit we showed was incredible. The way MK Dons play the game is really tough to deal with at times, and they ask big questions of you.
“We knew we were going to have to put a good shift in and wait for a crucial moment, and we did just that. It was fantastic pressing from us to win the ball back in their defensive third, and Jerry took the goal really well.
“We knew we were going to have to be patient in the game, as they’re a possession based outfit and love to keep the ball. We pressed the ball at the right times, which is crucial as they could quite easily have picked us off. It was a pleasing victory.”
