Chris Maxwell is wary of Tuesday night’s opponents, Burton Albion, but is fully confident the Seasiders can continue their recent impressive form.
Burton head to Bloomfield Road on the back of six straight wins, having been boosted by the return of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as manager in the New Year. The side, which were rooted to the bottom of the table just two months ago, are now seven points clear of the bottom four.
“Burton are in good form and have really picked up since the new manager has gone in,” Maxwell said.
“They made a number of new signings in January, and this seems to have done them wonders in getting out of the situation they were in, so we’re aware of how dangerous an opponent they will be on Tuesday evening.
“Yes, they’re in great form coming into the match, but we are on an impressive unbeaten run ourselves. I think we’ve continuously performed well over recent weeks, and although we didn’t pick up all three points against Fleetwood on Saturday, I think the performance was there once again.
“If we play our game, we’re capable of beating anyone in this league. We need to ensure we do our job well, and if we do that, I’m confident we can continue the run we are on.”
