Preview: Fleetwood Town (H)

12 March 2021

Blackpool welcome Fleetwood Town to Bloomfield Road this weekend, as two in-form teams go head-to-head.

The Seasiders made it six matches unbeaten on Tuesday, with a hard-fought 1-0 win at MK Dons. Fleetwood, meanwhile, made it three wins on the spin in midweek with a 1-0 win over Gillingham.

Heading into the match, Blackpool lie in 11th place; four points outside of the play-offs and two above 14th placed Fleetwood, whilst also having four matches in hand over Saturday’s opponents.

Team News:

Neil Critchley has no new injury concerns following the win at MK Dons.

Last Time We Met:

The Seasiders secured all three points at Highbury back in December, thanks to Gary Madine’s first-half header. Victory was also Blackpool’s in Fleetwood’s last visit to Bloomfield Road, thanks to a 3-1 win.

The Key Player: Callum Camps

Callum Camps has impressed at Highbury since his move from Rochdale in the summer of 2020. The 25-year-old has 11 goals to his name so far this season, as well as two assists. Camps spent all of his career at Rochdale prior to his move to Fleetwood last summer, making over 200 appearances for the Dale.

Neil Critchley:

“Fleetwood have picked up over recent matches. Similar to how they were when we visited their place earlier in the season, they are a hard team to score against.

“They’ve got some good attacking players and because they’re in form, that makes them dangerous opponents on Saturday. Like all our matches this season, we’ll have to play well to win.”
