Jerry Yates's 14th goal of the season was enough to make it three straight away wins for Blackpool, in a 1-0 victory at MK Dons.
Yates's goal came ten minutes before the half-time whistle, with MK Dons struggling to cope with Blackpool's high-intensity all evening.
The hosts though, had the best opening chance on six minutes. A ball in from the left-hand-side evaded everyone but found Cameron Jerome who, from eight yards out, had a first-time effort which was wonderfully blocked by the sliding James Husband.
MK Dons were creating good chances, particularly on the right-hand-side through Ethan Laird who was continuously putting in crosses into the mix, but no Dons player was there to capitalize.
Blackpool were soaking up the pressure and capitalized on a mistake at the back from Harry Darling 10 minutes from the half-time whistle. The defender was trying to play out from the back, and Sullay Kaikai closed him down to win the ball back, which fell perfectly to Jerry Yates, who ran at goal before rounding the goalkeeper and squeezing the ball in from his left foot to give the Seasiders the lead.
Sullay Kaikai then saw his corner kick met by the head of Ollie Turton moments later, but the right-back’s effort went just over Andrew Fisher’s bar, and the Seasiders took the lead into the break.
Half-time: MK Dons 0 Blackpool 1
The Seasiders were looking to extend their lead in the second half, showing real attacking intent. Elliot Embleton saw a speculative volley go just over the bar from 25 yards out on the hour mark.
The introduction of CJ Hamilton and Demetri Mitchell out wide on 67 minutes caused MK real problems, although it was the hosts who thought they’d scored moments later, with Cameron Jerome played through on goal, only to rattle the crossbar with an effort from inside the area.
CJ Hamilton had an effort on goal on 78 minutes, winning the ball off Warren O’Hara before seeing his shot charged down from Fisher in the MK Dons goal.
Despite some late chances for the hosts, including a goal ruled out for offside for MK right at the end, Blackpool snatched all three points.
