Neil Critchley was pleased to his side run out eventual comfortable winners in the 3-0 victory at Northampton Town.
Luke Garbutt’s strike and a Jerry Yates brace secured the victory, with the Seasiders now in need of just a single point from their two remaining games to reach the play-offs.
“It was a comfortable victory in the end, but at 1-0 it was anything but,” Critchley said.
“We knew coming here to Northampton that they were fighting for their lives to stay in the division, and they made it really hard for us in the first 15 minutes or so. We had to defend a lot of long balls and withstand a lot of early pressure.
“We scored the first goal at a good time and that got us into the game. The second goal deflated them a little bit and then we went on to get the third goal which was pleasing to see.
“We can be proud of our efforts in the game. There are two home games to come and we certainly won’t be taking our foot off the pedal in those matches.”
