Blackpool need just a single point from Tuesday night’s match with Doncaster Rovers to secure a place in the play-offs.
A convincing 3-0 victory at Northampton Town on Saturday put the Seasiders in a commanding position with two matches to go. Neil Critchley’s side sit in fifth place in the Sky Bet League One table – three points clear of seventh, with a game in hand over many opponents.
A victory over Doncaster could send Blackpool up to third in the table heading into the final day of the season, depending on how fourth-placed Lincoln fair at Charlton Athletic on Tuesday.
Tuesday night’s visitors sit in 12th position in the table, despite their flying start to the campaign. Now under the guidance of player/manager Andy Butler after Darren Moore’s departure to Sheffield Wednesday in the New Year, Donny could finish as high as eighth if they win their final two matches.
Keshi Anderson made a return to action on Saturday, coming on as a late second half substitute at Sixfields. Grant Ward and Sullay Kaikai continue to be monitored.
Last Time We Met:
Doncaster secured a dramatic comeback victory over Blackpool in the reverse fixture back in November. The Seasiders were 2-0 up in the first half at the Keepmoat Stadium, before a second half fightback ensured Donny took all three points in a 3-2 win.
The Key Player: Fejiri Okenabirhie
24-year-old Fejiri Okenabirhie is Doncaster’s top scorer so far this season, having found the back of the net 13 times.
The striker joined the Club on a two-and-a-half-year deal in January 2020 for an undisclosed fee from Shrewsbury Town.
"We certainly don’t want to take our foot off the pedal at the moment, and that was the message to the players in the dressing room after the Northampton game."
