Anderson: Rest And Recovery Will Be Key During Coming Weeks

Keshi Anderson is looking to build on his recent performances, as Blackpool continue preparations for this weekend's match at Swansea City.

The Seasiders head to South Wales for their first match in a fortnight after the recent international break and Anderson, who scored his first two league goals of the campaign last month in the victories over Preston and Sheffield United, is looking to continue his impressive run of form.

"I've really enjoyed my time out on the pitch lately and feel I'm starting to contribute more to the goals and assists," he said.

"The thing that matters is the team winning, and I'm pleased that I've been able to help the side do that in recent victories. I think we're starting to show that we're a strong side in this division after a tough start to the season. I think we're capable of coming up against any side in this league and putting in strong performances, and we've shown that in recent weeks. We've had a good international break of rest and recuperation, and we're now looking to push on over the coming weeks and months."

The upcoming Christmas period is renowned for being a busy schedule in the football calendar, and Anderson admits the festive period is just as much about how the players look after their bodies in-between matches, as it is about how they perform on the pitch.

"Christmas is always a busy period, but it's something we're all looking forward to and hopefully a part of the season where we can build a good bit of momentum.

"Management of our own bodies in terms of rest and recovery is crucial. We tend to do recovery sessions after matches such as cycling sessions and ice baths to ensure we remain in the best condition for when we go out onto the pitch, so that's going to be really important over the next few weeks.

"We don't want to be picking up any silly injuries, and the preparation the coaching staff put in really helps that. We're all looking forward to the remainder of the season, and hope to get off to a good start after the international break at Swansea on Saturday."
