Bowler: We Always Believe
Josh Bowler insists Blackpool’s last-gasp draw at Bristol City on Saturday came as no surprise, given the never-say-die attitude within the squad.
The winger, who came off the bench to tee up Shayne Lavery for a 93rd minute equaliser at Ashton Gate, has been impressed with the belief and drive he has witnessed amongst the players since joining the Seasiders from Everton.
“I’ve only been here a short time, but the one thing I know about this group is that they never give up, even in training and mini games,” he said. “There are always late goals because nobody gives up in this team.
“We always believe that it can happen, and thankfully I was there to put it across for Shayne to put it in.”
The goal ensured that Blackpool started off life back in the Sky Bet Championship with a point, which was made all the sweeter thanks to the 1,100 or so Pool fans in attendance.
“It’s one of the best feelings I’ve experienced. A last-minute winner or goal to get a point, away from home, is a good point.
“It’s a feeling that you can’t really describe, especially when we scored and the fans were right there. Getting to celebrate with them is indescribable,” he added.
