Connolly: We Grew Into The Game

Callum Connolly believes the side showed real character and belief once again to claim a late point in the 1-1 draw at Swansea.

Connolly made his first start for the Seasiders since late August at the Swansea.com Stadium, playing a key role in the middle of the park and helping Blackpool on their way to another point on the road, courtesy of Keshi Anderson's strike.

"I think it's a good point for us, particularly at a ground like this and against a team like Swansea," Connolly said.

"Overall it was a tough game. Swansea play really food football with little one-two's but I think we nullified them for large parts of the game. It was a good strike from their lad to give them the lead, but we did well to get back into it thanks to Keshi's strike. Looking back, I think it was a good a game and a fair result in the end.

"It was another example of the belief we have within the squad to come from behind. This season we've scored some late goals to get back into matches, and I think this was another one of those matches where we never gave in."

Looking back on the game, Connolly admitted he was pleased to be back involved with the team and hopes to do whatever he can to help the side continue to push on in the Championship.

"Whenever I'm called upon, I'll do whatever I can to help the team," he said.

"I've been doing well in training in recent weeks, and I was pleased to be back out there and play my part for the team today. It was another good performance from the boys, and hopefully we can push on and use that for what will be a tough test at home to West Brom on Tuesday night."
