Critchley: Everyone Contributed
Neil Critchley was complimentary of his entire side, and felt every player contributed in the 2-1 victory at Middlesbrough.
The Seasiders secured a wonderful comeback win at the Riverside Stadium to secure their first away victory of the Championship season, and the Blackpool Head Coach was delighted with his side's character and effort.
"It was a fantastic win and I think every player contributed to the victory," he said.
"You go down so early in the game and the crowd then really get behind them. It could have been easy for the players to go under and buckle under the pressure, but our players never do.
"Our response was brilliant. We had a big chance in the first half through Tyreece John-Jules' effort and we felt we were still in the game at half-time and could come back in it.
"I thought our second half performance was brilliant and to comeback in that fashion was wonderful to see."
Critchley was also delighted to see his defenders contributing to the goal tally, with Marvin Ekpiteta's first goal of the season the start of the comeback.
"I think Marvin's finish was what you could class as a centre forward's goal," he said.
"It was an unbelievable finish. We got a bit of luck with it, which I think we deserved, and credit to Marvin for turning his man brilliantly and slotting the ball home."
Reflecting on the atmosphere, the Blackpool head Coach was full of praise once again for the travelling Blackpool supporters.
"Once again, out supporters were incredible. You wouldn't have thought when they were in front that they were, as our supporters continued singing throughout. It's great when you see them going nuts in the corner when we score and I wish I was in there celebrating with them.
"They travel a long way and pay a lot of money to watch us play. The least we can do is give our all, and we more than did that today."
