Critchley: Everything I Want A Blackpool Team To Be
Neil Critchley felt his side were worthy winners against Middlesbrough and could have won the match by an even bigger margin.
The Seasiders dispatched Middlesbrough 3-0 with three wonderful strikes from Callum Connolly, Shayne Lavery and Keshi Anderson, and Blackpool's Head Coach couldn't have been happier with his side.
"Tonight was everything I wanted a Blackpool team to be," he said.
"We played with real positivity, flair and creativity. We defended well, pressed well, counter-pressed well. I don't think 3-0 flattered us. It was a really good team performance and some individual performances were also wonderful. It was a really good night for us."
Despite making seven changes to the side from Saturday's draw at Bristol City, the side still impressed, and the head Coach feels that is a good sign.
"We made numerous changes, but the way the team played together in and out of possession is really pleasing to see.
"We controlled the game and created a lot of chances. These are a group of players that are hungry and give their all and compete. We play with imagination and moved the ball well, and I think our supporters will have been pleased with how the team played tonight."
