Critchley: First Win Gives Huge Encouragement
Neil Critchley expects his Blackpool squad to take a huge amount of belief and confidence from Saturday’s victory at home to Fulham.
The Seasiders’ Head Coach watched his players pick up a first three points in the Championship this season and is seeing improvements from game-to-game.
“It should give us huge encouragement (that Fulham result),” he said. “I think in the past few games we’ve shown that we’re adapting and growing in confidence at this level.
“With the players we’ve brought in and the deadline now being gone and us having the squad we can work with, I hope that we will improve further.”
The task now is to back up Saturday’s display against Huddersfield Town at Bloomfield Road and make it consecutive victories.
“I think it will be a very similar squad. We were in yesterday and the players who played did a recovery session, while the other players trained. We started that process after that game on Saturday of recovering and preparing for Tuesday night. I wouldn’t have thought the squad will be vastly different at all.
“With two games in four days, you have to take physical condition into consideration and also the psychological aspect of the game on Saturday because they put a lot into the game.
“However, that’s the level we’re playing at and you have to reproduce that in every game if you want to be a top player and you want to win games at this level. That’ll be the test for us on Tuesday night,” he added.
