Critchley Provides Injury Update
Neil Critchley has provided an update on the fitness of his squad ahead of Saturday's trip to Nottingham Forest.
Chris Maxwell, Shayne Lavery and Richard Keogh were all forced off through injury in the victory over Blackburn Rovers before the international break, whilst Daniel Gretarsson was forced off in his midweek match for Iceland.
"Daniel received a late call up for Iceland, and we were all delighted for him as he deserved it," Critchley said.
"He got 45 minutes in their first game after coming on at half-time, and did well enough to start their second match. Unfortunately, he received a head injury early on in that match. He was substituted after about half an hour after what seems to be a delayed concussion.
"We've been in touch with the Iceland medical staff, and they're not too concerned, so he can make his way back to us. We'll assess him when he returns, as there's quite a rigorous concussion protocol which we quite rightly have to follow."
With Chris Maxwell and Shayne Lavery both ruled out as short-term absentees for a number of weeks, Critchley is hopeful Richard Keogh could return to action this weekend.
"We hope Richard will still be available for Saturday, and if not then for Wednesday at Reading, which will be a really helpful boost for us."
