Critchley: We Took The Game To Them

Neil Critchley felt his side matched West Brom for large parts of the game in the 0-0 draw at Bloomfield Road.

Both sides had opportunities in the match, but neither were able to break the deadlock in a tight game.

"I thought it was an entertaining 0-0 and both teams contributed towards that," Critchley said.

"I thought we started the game well and were on the front foot. We took the game to them, played with energy and had some big moments that could've led to good opportunities. We failed at that a little bit and you know with the way that West Brom play with the size and physicality of their team, that at some point they might get on top of you.

"In the second half that happened, but we defended our goal really well. Corners, free kicks, long throw ins - the lads put their bodies on the line with big blocks. We had some big chances ourselves in the second half, and it's hard to create clear chances against this side. Overall, if you're coming away with a point against a team like West Brom, then you've got to be generally pleased."

CJ Hamilton returned to action for the first time since August, and could have scored late in the second half, and the Blackpool Head Coach is pleased to have him back for selection.

"CJ takes up so many positions in the box. He's not just hanging out wide, he's there win the box inside the full-back. Keshi did well to play the ball through to him, and CJ had to turn and take it early. He didn't quite catch it right, but the more he plays, the sharper he will be. It's good to have him back."
