Dougall: First 12 Months Very Enjoyable
Kenny Dougall says he has nothing but good memories of his first 12 months at Blackpool, as he prepares to mark a year since joining the Seasiders.
The midfielder, who agreed a new contract at Bloomfield Road on Thursday, is looking forward to the future in tangerine, having had a very successful opening stint to his career in tangerine.
“Football goes very quickly and the last year has been no different,” Dougall said. “It’s been very enjoyable – we obviously had a tremendous season last season – and hopefully this is another successful season for us.
“When I look back on the last year, it’s just good memories and lifetime ones for myself. I’ve met some really good people, and I have nothing but positive thoughts about it.”
With his brace at Wembley and the subsequent promotion no doubt the highlight so far, the Australian international has also loved seeing the Blackpool fans back in attendance at matches.
“To have them back is kind of like having football back. The Blackpool fans have taken well to me, and I just want to continue to repay them on the pitch."
Set to return from international duty next week, Dougall will aim to continue his run of starts in the side when Blackpool face Nottingham Forest.
“I had a later pre-season start, then I picked up a little knee injury which was frustrating and delayed the start of the season for me,” he explained.
“It’s now been nice to get a run of games again. I’m feeling fit and results have picked up, which obviously helps. Hopefully we can continue that form going forward.”
