Dougall: Frustrated To Take Nothing
Kenny Dougall admits the side were frustrated to leave St Andrews with nothing following the 1-0 loss to Birmingham City.
Lukas Jutkiewicz's strike late in the second half was the difference, despite Blackpool dominating for large parts and creating numerous opportunities on goal.
"We're ultimately disappointed to come away with nothing," he said.
"I think we were in control in the first half, but we didn't take our chances, and when that happens you're always susceptible to falling behind. It was a very stop-start game. Every time it went out of play, they took a while to get things back underway, which was clearly part of their game plan and maybe disrupted us a little bit.
"We can't hide behind any decisions or luck, as we had opportunities to score and we should have come with a single point if not more."
Despite the frustration in not being able to claim anything for their effort at St Andrews, Dougall feels it's a sign of how far the side has come in coming to a place like Birmingham and being disappointed to taste defeat.
"I think it's a sign of how far we have come to come here and be disappointed with a defeat," he said.
"We're still a newly-promoted side and we're currently mid-table, so there is still work to do, but we're still looking up rather than down in the league. We'll focus on what we can do better and take that into next week at home to Luton."
