Gabriel: We Deserved More
Jordan Gabriel felt Blackpool should have all three points to their name after an impressive performance in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers.
The Seasiders created countless opportunities on the visitors goal, and had a number of decisions go against them in the draw, but Gabriel feels the side did well to not let their heads drop despite the situation.
"I think our performance deserved more than a point," he said.
"Even though a few decisions maybe went against us during the game, we didn't let that effect our game. We rolled our sleeves up and dug in because if we sulk and hide away, teams like QPR will punish you. This Blackpool team is full of fight and endeavour and I think you could see that on the pitch throughout the match."
Gabriel, who was voted Man of the Match by the match sponsors from Tyson Construction, played a key role in the equaliser by winning the penalty which was expertly taken by Gary Madine.
"It was a great cross-field pass from Hubby and I saw the run and thought there was a good chance I could reach it.
"I took a touch and the goalkeeper has rushed out and taken me out, so it was definitely a penalty. Credit to Gary, who tucked it away really well and I think it was no less than we deserved.
"At the end of the day, football is football, and you are going to have to deal with adversity and things maybe not going your way throughout the season, but overall I think we can be proud of our performance, and take a lot of confidence from that going into the international break."
