Mitchell Returns To Training
Neil Critchley has confirmed Demetri Mitchell is back in full training, and could be in consideration for a return to action this weekend.
The winger picked up a knee injury in the Seasiders final pre-season match at Morecambe in July and, after an impressive start to the campaign, the 24-year-old has had to sit out the first six weeks of the season.
"Demi's joined back in team training this week, which is really good news," Critchley said.
"He had a fantastic pre-season, and I thought he ended last season really well. I thought he did really well in the play-off final, and it was just disappointing to lose him right at the end of pre-season.
"He's been out for six weeks, but he's recovered well lately, and he could be in consideration for this weekend's match at Middlesbrough, but we'll need to decide closer to the time whether it might be a bit too soon for him."
As well as Mitchell, Blackpool welcomed back Gary Madine to the squad on Tuesday evening. The striker came on as a late second half substitute, and the Blackpool Head Coach was pleased to welcome him back into the fold.
"It was great to see Gary getting 20 minutes on the pitch on Tuesday. Dujon Sterling came on too, and I thought he made a positive impact. Its good tobe welcoming players back into the mix at this stage of the season."
