Preview: Reading (A)

Blackpool travel to in-form Reading on Wednesday night in search of their second away win of the season.

The Seasiders come into Wednesday's match on the back of a narrow loss at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, though that was their first defeat in five matches.

Neil Critchley's side will come up against the form side in the Championship, with Reading having won five of their last six matches.

The Royals are in eighth place in the table, two points off of the play-offs, whereas Blackpool sit in 16th - four points off Wednesday's opponents.

The Manager: Veljko Paunovi?
Serbian international Veljko Paunovi? took charge of Reading in August 2020 after the departure of Mark Bowen, and has settled well into life at the Select Car Leasing Stadium. The 44-year-old has managed at youth team level for the Serbian national side before his move to Berkshire, as well as a four year period in charge at Chicago Fire in the MLS.

The Key Man: John Swift
A crucial player for the Royals, John Swift has provided goals and assists to Reading this season, becoming one of the stars of the championship at this early stage of the season. A product of Chelsea's Academy, Swift has enjoyed loan spells at Rotherham United, Swindon Town and Brentford before his move to Reading in 2016. He has eight goals and five assists to his name already this season.
