Report: Blackpool 0 Luton Town 3

Blackpool fell to a 3-0 defeat on Saturday at the hands of Luton Town.

Goals from Sonny Bradley, Elijah Adebayo and Jordan Clark ensurted Luton took all three points in what was a cold and blustery Bloomfield Road.

Supporters took time to remember the sad passing of six-year-old Arthur Labinjo-Hughes on six minutes, with a round of applause from all four corners of the stadium.

Luton had a half-chance on 15 minutes, after winning possession back in the middle of the field. The pass wide to Elijah Adebayo was timed well, as then Luton forward cut inside onto his right foot and shot at goal, but the effort hit the side netting.

The wet and windy conditions were making it difficulty for the both teams to build up and steam and create some good chances, though Ryan Wintle had a wonderful effort from distance tipped behind by James Shea just before the half hour mark.

With minutes of the first half remaining, Luton took the lead. In what was a frustrating goal for Blackpool to concede, a corner kick was whipped in to the back post and Sonny Bradley rose highest to slam a header at goal, with the ball smacking off now the underside of the crossbar and in.

That was the last action of there first half, and it was Luton who went into the break ahead.

Jerry Yates tried his luck with a first time strike five minutes into the second half, with the side clearly going for the jugular early on in an effort to get back into the game, but the strike was tipped over by the goalkeeper.

Despite a lively start to the second half for the Seasiders, it was Luton who doubled their lead on 53 minutes. A deep cross was whipped into the back post to Elijah Adebayo, who nodded his effort back across goal and over the line.

Despite Blackpool continuosly pushing for a ngoal to get back into ther game in rthe final 20 minutes, it was in vain, as Luton grabbed a late third goal in the final minutes, with Jordan Clark able to sweep home a cross from the left hand side.
