Report: Blackpool 0 West Brom 0

Blackpool and West Brom played out a 0-0 draw at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday evening.

Neither side were able to break the deadlock in a tight encounter where both Shayne Lavery and CJ Hamilton made a welcome return to injury.

With just over ten minutes gone, a loose pass from Dan Grimshaw found Grady Diangana on the left who took a touch and shot at goal, but his effort was tame and went wide.

Shayne Lavery, who was back in the starting XI for the first time since early October, almost found the net just ten minutes later. Gary Madine's flick on from a cross from the left was controlled by Lavery in the box, but he just couldn't sort his feet out, with his eventual effort scooped high in the air and collected by the goalkeeper.

As the half progressed, the visitors were getting into the game. Matt Phillips and Karlan Grant both had efforts on goal, but Grimshaw was equal to both efforts.

Despite some good chances for both sides in the first, neither were able to break the deadlock and the score was goalless at the in half-time break.

West Brom were proving their quality and thought they'd taken the lead 15 minutes into the second half. Callum Robinson and Jordan Hugill, who had only just came on, linked well with Robinson's ball into the box met by Hugill, but his first time effort was blocked superbly well by Reece James.

The in-form Keshi Anderson tried his luck from distance on 70 minutes after being urged to shoot from the supporters, with his effort taking a slight deflection on it's way to goal before it was safely in the hands of Sam Johnstone.

CJ Hamilton was introduced midway through the second half after missing several months through injury, and he almost gave Blackpool the lead moments later. A great ball from Keshi Anderson over the top found Hamilton, who had his back to goal and had to turn and shoot, with his effort going high and wide.

Both sides were ultimately left to share ther spoils on the evening, with Blackpool climbing one place to ninth in the Championship table.
