Report: Blackpool 1 Barnsley 0
Blackpool made it back-to-back league wins thanks to a 1-0 victory over Barnsley.
Shayne Lavery's first-half strike was all the difference in the game, despite Blackpool dominating for large parts throughout.
With five minutes gone, Keshi Anderson played a lovely ball into the area after some great work on the left hand side. The ball found Shayne Lavery, who's effort was well saved and cleared away from the Barnsley goalkeeper.
Anderson was impressing out wide for Blackpool, and some good link up play between him and Luke Garbutt on 25 minutes almost gave the first goal of the match. Anderson played the ball to the overlapping Garbutt, who took aim from a tight angle. His first shot was blocked, whilst his second was blocked by the goalkeeper and eventually claimed.
It was five minutes later when Blackpool took a deserved lead through Shayne Lavery. The tricky forward won the ball back well in their final third, weaved past a defender and squeezed the ball past the goalkeeper into the far corner from a tight angle.
Tyreece John-Jules then had an opportunity after a great pass found the loanee, who had the time to run at goal with no defenders around him. The goalkeeper was there though, once again, to deny Blackpool another.
At the other end, Chris Maxwell made a fantastic save low to his right, after Victor Adeboyejo found the space to shoot inside the area. Blackpool's captain, who had very little to do in the first half, palmed it away brilliantly and ensured Blackpool took their lead into the break.

It was a fiery encounter in the second half, as Blackpool pushed hard for a second goal. Josh Bowler did well on the hour mark to get through on goal after weaving through the away side's backline, but his effort was wide of the mark.
As the later stages went on, Dujon Sterling won a free-kick on the right, which was whipped in and headed back across goal to Shayne Lavery, however the forward couldn't sort his feet out with goal gaping and the ball bounced off him for a goal kick.
Chris Maxwell was forced into another big save on 80 minutes, with Cauley Woodrow's first time effort stinging his palms, but Blackpool held on towards the end with some resolute defending and were more than deserved winners on the day.
