Report: Blackpool 1 Fulham 0

Blackpool claimed their first three points of the season in a thrilling victory over Fulham.

Josh Bowler's second half strike was enough for the Seasiders, who were more than worthy winners on the day in front of a crowd of over 11,000 supporters.

With five minutes gone, Keshi Anderson played a great ball in from the left with cross-come-shot, with Tyreece John-Jules sliding in at the back post, but the striker just couldn't reach it.

Anderson was proving to be a real threat in the opening stages, having his own effort on goal moments later, but it west just wide of the post.

Blackpool were holding their own in the first half against the top-of-the-table Cottagers and Tyreece John-Jules almost capitalised on a Fulham mistake on 20 minutes, as the Seasiders' high-pressing was causing problems. The ball was cleared away following a cross from the left, but came out to John-Jules, who was clean through on goal, but his shot was palmed away by Gazzaniga in the Fulham goal.

As the half wore on, Jean Michael-Seri tried his luck from range after being urged to shoot from the away fans, with his effort going just wide of the post. The sides went in goalless at the break.

Half-time: Blackpool 0 Fulham 0

With just five minutes gone into the second half, the Seasiders took a deserved lead through Josh Bowler's first league goal for the Club. The winger carried the ball from half way, weaved his way past two defenders into the six yard box, and squeezed the ball past Gazzaniga at the near post and into the net, sparking wild celebrations throughout the stadium.

The Seasiders were worthy of their lead and were looking to extend it further, with the front two of Yates and John-Jules being supported well by Bowler and Anderson.

Fulham were proving a threat, mostly from set-pieces, but Marvin Ekpiteta and Richard Keogh were dealing well with the height and power of Fulham's front line.

In the dying moments, Harrison Reed stabbed the ball over the bar as Fulham were pushing hard for the equaliser, but it was Blackpool's day, as the Seasiders picked up their first league win of the season in memorable fashion.
