Blackpool are through to the second round of the Carabao Cup thanks to an impressive 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough.
Goals from Callum Connolly, Shayne Lavery and Keshi Anderson ensured the Pool made it through in front of a crowd of just under 6,000 supporters.
Boosted by a loud and passionate crowd, the Seasiders were impressing early on. Josh Bowler tried his luck on his left foot, cutting in and driving a shot across the face of goal on six minutes, but it just went wide of the far post.
Bowler did incredibly well again on 20 minutes, weaving his way through the Middlesbrough defence following a recycled corner, to cut inside and have an effort with his left foot, but it went just wide of the far post once again.
Blackpool's dominance in the opening half paid off on 30 minutes, thanks to Callum Connolly's wonderful strike. The Seasiders won a free-kick right on the edge of the area, with Josh Bowler's effort bouncing clear off the wall. The ball fell to Connolly, who hit it first time on the volley from the edge of the area, with the ball rippling the back of the net to give the Seasiders the lead.

Blackpool were in a buoyant mood were causing Middlesbrough all sorts or problems in thew second half. Josh Bowler did well to weave past two Boro defenders to get a cross in on 55 minutes, but it was eventually cleared before any Pool player could poke it home.
The front three of CJ Hamilton, Josh Bowler and Shayne Lavery were really testing the visitors backline, with CJ Hamilton's shot following a swift counter-attack well-blocked by the goalkeeper, thought the linesman flagged or offside.
Middlesbrough's best chance came on 70 minutes, as Isiah Jones cut in from the left onto his right foot, to then try his luck with curling effort at goal, but it went just over
Shayne Lavery was proving a thorn in Middlesbrough's defence, and he scored a well-deserved goal 15 minutes from time to send the North Stand into a raptures.
A goal mouth scramble allowed Lavery the space to shift the ball onto his right foot and fire at goal, with the goalkeeper not expecting it, and it smashed into the net.
Blackpool weren't done there, and made it 3-0 moments later, with Shayne Lavery's cross from the left flicked on expertly by Keshi Anderson over the goalkeeper to ensure Blackpool's safe passage into round two of the Carabao Cup.
