Report: Blackpool 1 QPR 1

Blackpool and QPR played out a 1-1 draw in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Saturday evening, in a chilly encounter at Bloomfield Road.

In front of another electric atmosphere, Blackpool had the ball in the back of the net on six minutes. A corner kick was whipped in, with Kenny Dougall's header to the back post going over the line. Gary Madine instinctively touched the ball on it's way to goal, with the linesman flagging for an apparent offside, and the goal was controversially ruled out.

Claims for a Blackpool penalty were then waived away on 20 minutes, after Jordan Gabriel was brought down in the area, after a mazing run down the right flank. The referee, though, saw nothing doing and played on.

Despite an impressive start, it was the visitors who took the lead on 25 minutes through a wonderful curling effort from Chris Willock. The Rangers man picked the ball on the left, cut inside onto his right foot and curled one into the far corner, off the post and over the line.

The Seasiders created countless opportunities, but not through the want of trying, they couldn't find an equaliser and were unfortunate to go in behind at the interval.

The Seasiders didn't let the first 45 minutes get to them, and got that deserved equaliser just five minutes into the restart.

A long ball forward from James Husband to the overlapping Jordan Gabriel caused the defence a host of problems. Gabriel beat his man to collect the ball, and was brought down but the onrushing Seny Dieng in goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Up stepped Gary Madine, who smashed the ball into the bottom corner to level it up on 50 minutes.

Blackpool continued to dominate for larger parts of the game, with Josh Bowler causing problems down the flanks for the visitors.

Sonny Carey came on in the final 15 minutes, replacing Owen Dale, and almost scored with a wonderful effort from just inside the area, but his powerful strike hit the side netting.

The points were shared in the end, with Blackpool adding another points on the board for the season.
