Report: Derby County 1 Blackpool 0

Blackpool endured a difficult afternoon at Pride Park, and suffered defeat on the road in a 1-0 loss to Derby County.

Luker Plange's second half strike was the difference, as the Seasiders struggled in front of goal in a tight match.

With three minutes gone, Shayne Lavery used his pace to get in behind the Derby backline towards the byline. He played a low cross into the area, but Ryan Wintle's first time strike was blocked on it's way to goal and cleared away.

Derby were creating chances on goal, but weren't really testing Chris Maxwell in goal. At the other end, Shayne Lavery did well once again to cut in onto his left foot and shoot from outside the area, but the effort went just wide of the far post.

Reece James played a good ball into the box on 26 minutes which found Shayne Lavery, but the frontman just couldn't make the right contact with it and the goalkeeper easily held on to the ball.

Neither side offered a clear cut chance on the goal in the opening 45 minutes, and it was goalless at the break.

Half-time: Derby County 0 Blackpool 0

Richard Keogh was brought on at half-time to a mixed reception from the home fans, where he spent the best part of eight years. He replaced Reece James.

Derby took the lead just over five minutes into the second half. A shot on the edge of the area from Jozwiak smacked the far post and striker Luke Plange was the first to respond, tapping home the rebound to give the hosts the lead.

Jerry Yates was brought on in the final stages to give Blackpool an extra body up top and he was almost put through on goal through Keshi Anderson's ball forward, but Yates was offside when the ball was played and the linesman raised his flag.

In what was turning out to be an afternoon to forget for the Seasiders, the side struggled to break Derby down with Lavery, Yates and Bowler having late half chances in on goal, but it wasn't to be and the side suffered a narrow defeat on the road.
