Report: Sheffield United 0 Blackpool 1

Blackpool made it three straight league wins and rose into the play-off places with a 1-0 win at Sheffield United.

Keshi Anderson's second half strike was enough for Pool to take all three points at Bramall Lane, with over 2,000 Blackpool supporters crammed into a packed away end.

Blackpool had an early opportunity on six minutes. Jordan Gabriel thread through Jerry Yates with a pass, and the forward peeled off his marker well. Just as he shot at goal from a tight angle, the striker was flagged for offside, with Robin Olsen in the Sheffield United goal equal to the effort on goal.

Despite the hosts sluggish start, they did have the ball in the back of the net on ten minutes. A cross on the right following a corner kick was met with the head of Iliman Ndiaye. With the forward wheeling away in celebration, the linesman had his flag raised for offside, and the goal was ruled out.

The half wore on, and Sheffield United were getting a foot hole into the match. Ndiaye, who was at the centre of most things for the hosts, did well to get around Richard Keogh in the 18 yard box and play a cross to Lys Mousset, but the forward's effort was well held by Daniel Grimshaw.

At the other end, Josh Bowler was awarded a free-kick for Blackpool about 40 yards from goal. He whipped the ball into the box, with no one there to get a touch on it, though it was heading straight to goal. The Sheffield United goalkeeper was there to tip it behind for a corner, which eventually came to nothing.

Morgan Gibbs-White was impressing for the hosts, with his ball to Mousset shredding him in on goal on 35 minutes, but the finish lacked finesse and went just wide of the post.

Despite chances on goal for both sides in the opening 45 minutes, it was goals at the break.

Half-time: Sheffield United 0 Blackpool 0

Sheffield United were trying their best to break down a stubborn Blackpoll defence, and thought they'd broken the deadlock 60 seconds after the restart when Morgan Gibbs-White's powerful effort was tipped behind by Dan Grimshaw.

The hosts were struggling to find a finish, with the likes of David McGoldrick, Olie McBurnie and Billy Sharp all brought on throughout the second half to provide that spark, but it was Blackpool who stunned Bramall Lane into silence on 78 minutes.

Keshi Anderson picked up the ball after a long punt downfield, to then go on at goal. He weaved into the box, cut onto his left foot and curled a great effort into the corner to spark jubilant scenes behind the goal.

The Seasiders dug deep and held on towards the end to secure an imprssive three points and making it three straight wins.
