Seasiders Confirm Move For Owen Dale
Blackpool Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Owen Dale on an initial loan from Crewe Alexandra until January 2022, with a view to concluding a permanent transfer.
The 22-year-old winger, named Crewe’s Player and Players’ Player of the Year last season, agreed the deal prior to the closure of the transfer window last night.
A product of the club’s academy, Dale found the net on 12 occasions for the Railwaymen in 2020/21 and claimed their Goal of the Season award with an overhead kick against Burton Albion.
A promotion winner in the previous campaign, he has made 109 appearances for the Sky Bet League One side during his time at Gresty Road.
On the move, Owen Dale said:
“I’m very happy and very excited to finally get it over the line. It’s going to be a massive experience for me, but it’s one that I’m looking forward to. I just can’t wait to get going. I’m looking forward to meeting the lads and getting involved in the team.”
Neil Critchley said:
“Owen is an exciting, attacking player who we have been keen to bring to the Club this summer. He had a fantastic season for Crewe last season and is a somebody that I coached during his formative years in the academy, having joined when he was six. He’s had a great upbringing at Crewe and has the appetite, drive and enthusiasm to come here and play for Blackpool. I’m excited to be working with him again, and I’m sure our supporters will appreciate his qualities.”
