Vaccine Van On Seasiders Way Ahead Of Cardiff Game
A pop-up vaccine van will be on Seasiders Way on Saturday, as Blackpool Football Club continues to show support in the Covid-19 vaccination programme.
The vaccine van will be parked next to Bloomfield Road this Saturday (14th August), 11am-6pm, allowing supporters the opportunity to receive their jab before they attend Blackpool's first home Championship match of the season, against Cardiff City.
First and second doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccine will be available to anyone aged 18 and over. No appointment is needed, and anyone can simply walk-in.
In addition to the pop-up vaccine van, several members of the first-time squad received their jabs last week, including Matty Virtue and Gary Madine.
Blackpool Football Club CEO, Ben Mansford said:
"We are pleased to offer our support in such an important initiative, and hope as many supporters as possible take up the offer of receiving their jab on Saturday.
"There has been a fantastic uptake across the country in vaccinations so far, but there is still many more people that haven't received a dose. We urge anyone who hasn't yet received their jab to come forward this weekend, as we all continue our push back to normality."
Jane Scattergood, Covid-19 Vaccination Director for Lancashire and South Cumbria, said:
“All adults are now eligible so please come forward. We are inviting everyone over 18 to bring their second dose appointment forward to eight weeks to ensure everyone has the strongest possible protection as soon as possible.
“The Covid vaccines are two-dose vaccines so you must have both doses for maximum benefit and protection to you, your friends, and your family. Remember – it’s a game to two halves – you need both doses. Do the double, be a champion and let’s beat this virus together.”
