Yates: I’ve Loved Every Minute So Far

Jerry Yates has admitted it’s been a year to remember, as the striker reflected on his first 12 months at Blackpool.

The 24-year-old scored 23 goals last season, culminating in promotion and numerous individual awards including the PFA’s Player of the Season and Player’s Player of the Season.

Reflecting on his time at the Club to date, Yates is proud of the journey the side have been on.

“It’s been a really fantastic first 12 months here and I’ve loved every minute of it,” he said.

“We set out to gain promotion last season and we thankfully achieved that. We kept the belief throughout the season and it all worked out in the end.

“Looking back on my goals, I think the one against Oxford United in the play-offs is up there for me. With all of the supporters there as well as my family, and it being on TV was really special.”

With the squad now back in for pre-season training for a couple of weeks, the striker can’t wait for the new season to start.

“We’re all looking forward to the start of the season and pleased to be back in,” he said.

“The new lads have settled in well within the rest of the group, and it’s been tiring but a really enjoyable first few weeks back.

“We’re all ready and raring to go and looking forward to what should be a really exciting season.”
