Yates: We All Showed Great Spirit
Jerry Yates believes Saturday's draw at AFC Bournemouth was a big result for the side, given their second half fightback.
The Seasiders were 2-0 down at the half-time interval at the Vitality Stadium, but goals from James Husband and Jerry Yates ensured Blackpool took a point to show for their efforts on the south coast.
"It's a massive result from the boys to fightback and get something from the game," Yates said.
"I think we showed great spirit to come out for the second half and score the two goals against a side that will be up there this season.
"Everyone probably wrote us off coming to Bournemouth, but we had the belief we could get something and all the pressure was on them really. We can be really proud to get the point and take that moving forward."
Yates who scored 23 goals in his debut season for the Seasiders last in the last camapign, was also pleased to grab his first goals of the new season and is looking to use that as momentum going forward.
"I'm happy to score my first goal of the season, as that's a big moment for any striker," he said.
"I'm pleased it didn't take me as long as last season to get my first goal and am now looking forward to pushing on for the season."
