Youth Preview: Bolton Wanderers (A)

For the second straight month, the young Seasiders will travel to Greater Manchester to face Bolton Wanderers on Saturday in the EFL Youth Alliance for a 10:30am kick-off.

Blackpool were in fantastic form last month, winning four of their five matches with the fifth being postponed due to bad weather.

The Key Man:
Bolton’s key-man would be their winger, Mitchell Henry, who causes problems with his direct running style and aggressive dribbling technique.

He caused Blackpool some issues when they last came up against them but luckily for the Seasiders, they were clear winners in that game, so Henry failed to make much of an impact.

Bolton like to play a direct passing game and Henry will be key, lining up against the full backs, to make some forward runs and create some good chances for the young Trotters on Saturday.

The back four put out by John Murphy will have to play to their strengths and work hard to close him and the other Bolton attackers down.

Who Will Come Out On Top?
If Blackpool go to Bolton with the high spirits and confidence shown in November, then they will more than likely come out on top. Bolton will want to get some revenge on the young Seasiders after their three-goal defeat last time out at home against Blackpool. But, Murphy’s side will just be focused on themselves, hoping to put in another positive performance and if they do that, the result should follow.

Blackpool just need to be aware of Bolton’s threats, which will be their direct ball playing and tricky wingers, but Blackpool won’t mind letting Bolton play their game, with the Seasiders looking strong on the counter-attack.

Admission:
Unfortunately, supporters won’t be able to attend the game, as it is played behind closed doors.
